Today, I turn 60. Six decades of living, learning, loving, and leaning on my faith. This milestone isn’t just about the number—it’s about the journey. Over the years, I’ve been shaped by faith, family, friendships, trials, triumphs, beauty, and grace. As I reflect, here are ten things I’ve learned that have helped me grow—and maybe they’ll speak to your heart too.

1. Jesus Christ is my foundation.
Everything good in my life flows from my faith in Jesus. Through every storm and every celebration, He’s been my anchor. When the world felt shaky, His peace held me steady. I’ve learned that when I keep my eyes on Him, everything else finds its place.

2. Family is everything.
My husband has been my rock—steady, loving, and faithful through every season. And my three adult sons? They are my greatest pride and deepest joy. Watching them grow into strong, kind, and thoughtful men has been one of life’s greatest gifts. My family has grounded me, stretched me, and shown me what unconditional love looks like.

3. Girlfriends are GOLD and worth cherishing.
At this stage, I’ve let go of quantity and held onto quality. True friends are those who show up, speak truth, make you laugh, and simply get you—they are one of life’s greatest treasures. Make time for them.

4. Beauty evolves with grace.
When I was younger, beauty felt like something you had to chase. The right outfit, the perfect skin, the latest trend. But at 60, I see it so differently. Beauty now is about how I feel, not just how I look. It’s in a warm smile, a kind word, the peace that comes from knowing who you are and Whose you are. I’ve learned that confidence, joy, and a little bit of grace go a long way—and that’s the kind of beauty I embrace now. 60, I’ve discovered that beauty has less to do with smooth skin and more to do with a radiant spirit. There’s a quiet confidence that comes from living truthfully, loving deeply, and walking humbly. That’s the kind of beauty I strive for now.

5. Fashion should be fun and fearless.
Gone are the days of dressing to please others. Now, I wear what makes me feel confident, elegant, and a little bold. Style doesn’t have an age limit—if anything, it gets better with time, because now I know exactly who I am.

6. Travel broadens more than horizons.
Seeing new places has opened my heart to different people, cultures, and ways of living. But even more, it’s helped me appreciate the beauty of coming home. Travel has taught me gratitude, wonder, and that the world is much bigger—and kinder—than we often think.

7. Letting go brings freedom.
I’ve learned to let go of what I can’t control: other people’s opinions, past mistakes, and unrealistic expectations. In their place, I’ve embraced grace, peace, and joy. Freedom isn’t found in perfection—it’s found in surrender.

8. It’s never too late to reinvent yourself. New chapters are waiting to be written—don’t be afraid to begin again. I’ve found new passions, new callings, and new rhythms in midlife. I’m so grateful for everyone who has taken the time to support ‘Megan’s LifeStyle’. Your encouragement means the world to me and reminds me every day that this journey is not just mine—it’s ours. Thank you for being part of it.

9. Health is wealth. Don’t take it for granted. Nourish your body, get outside, move daily, and take care of your mental and spiritual well-being too. It’s not about perfection—it’s about being well enough to live fully.

10. The best is yet to come.
Growing older isn’t something I fear—it’s something I celebrate. Every wrinkle tells a story, every lesson has shaped me. And I believe, with all my heart, that God’s not done with me yet.

Sixty years in, I’m not claiming to have it all figured out—but I know this: life is a gift. It’s fragile, sacred, and breathtakingly beautiful when we slow down enough to see it. I’ve learned to lean into grace, to treasure the people God has placed in my life, and to trust that no matter what’s ahead, I don’t walk alone.

There’s still more to become, more to give, and more to experience. And I’m stepping into this next chapter with a grateful heart for life’s abundant blessings.
