I’ve been so excited to share this one, and now it’s finally here! The Frances Valentine x Mary Tyler Moore collection has launched, and it’s such a special collaboration.
Every piece in the collection starts with Mary. Her timeless style is laced throughout, bringing some of the most iconic moments from The Mary Tyler Moore Show to life in a way that feels both nostalgic and completely fresh. And really, who could forget the woman who “turned the world on with her smile”? Mary had a way of making confidence, independence, and joy look effortless—and her style was just as memorable. There are 14 apparel styles, two handbags, three shoes, and, of course, “the hat!”
And there’s an important purpose behind it, too. Twenty percent of net sales will benefit the Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative, supporting research to help end vision loss caused by diabetic retinal disease.
I had so much fun choosing my own looks from the collection. One of my favorites is the plaid wool jumper dress paired with the matching Bobby blazer—it has that wonderful vintage Mary feeling while still feeling so easy and modern. I also love the plaid trousers with the barn jacket. It’s such a fun, polished look and one I can see myself wearing again and again.
What makes this collection even more meaningful is the story behind it.
Coming Full Circle
Elyce Arons and Katy Spade grew up watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show and idolizing Mary Richards, a woman who was forging her own path in a male-dominated world. Mary’s independence, confidence, and style made an impression that lasted long beyond the show.
Her influence stayed with Elyce throughout her career—even inspiring the title of her bestselling memoir, We Might Just Make It After All. And now, years later, that inspiration has come full circle with this collection.
